My goal is to post a painting a day for a year. They are all for sale and I figure this is a good way to get some works out there to collectors for a reasonable price. Most will be "plein air paintings", painted on location. Some of them will be studies for larger paintings. They are usually done "Alla Prima", meaning all at once. I will soon set up a system where you can receive a painting a day via email. Please feel free to share this blog with your friends so that they can experience a little of what painting for a living here in Hawaii is like. I love to share that experience. Day One: September 25th 2009. It is appropriate that I start out this year long commitment by painting Charley Young Beach. It is my favorite subject. Every time I paint this scene it it comes out differently.
The Beach is only a mile and a half from my house and it is a wonderful place to walk to. When I am schlepping all of my painting gear I don't walk there.
