Day One: September 25th 2009. It is appropriate that I start out this year long commitment by painting Charley Young Beach. It is my favorite subject. Every time I paint this scene it it comes out differently.
The Beach is only a mile and a half from my house and it is a wonderful place to walk to. When I am schlepping all of my painting gear I don't walk there.

I paint a painting a day and will be posting these on this site. Please keep watching and something might come up that you like. If you don't like it then don't look. :)

Introduction

My name is Jan Bushart. I am an artist who lives on an island out in the middle of the Pacific ocean farther from any major land mass than any other archipelago in the world. You may have heard of it, it's called Maui. As an artist on this island I paint everyday and really enjoy and soak up the beautiful scenery around me. I want to share it with you.
